UX Design Sprint Case Study

As part of a design sprint workshop, we worked in teams of five to six designers with the objective of improving the user experience of an existing association by identifying and addressing a gap in its user journey through the design sprint methodology.
We chose to work with Reva Atea, an association based in Tahiti, because its mission was already strong and meaningful, yet its digital journey did not fully reflect its potential. Although the association had a clear purpose, engaged stakeholders, and valuable data, the experience offered through its website felt incomplete. A central UX challenge quickly emerged: the website was not living up to its potential.

Challenge

The initial analysis revealed that Reva Atea’s website did not fully support user engagement.
Different ways to get involved were not clearly presented, making the experience difficult to understand.
The main challenge was to better communicate the association’s cultural, scientific, and ecological values.
A benchmark phase was conducted to analyze how other associations structure their content and present engagement opportunities.
This research helped identify best practices in layout, information hierarchy, and calls to action.
Particular attention was given to how volunteering and participation are explained and valued.
The benchmark also inspired a clearer and more progressive user journey.
Beyond inspiration, the goal was to correct the weaknesses of the existing website.
Content was restructured to improve readability and guidance.
This approach helped create a more accessible and engaging experience for users.

Result

Our solution focused on engagement, with volunteering identified as a key lever to strengthen Reva Atea’s impact and resources. Through research, user journey mapping, and ideation, we restructured the experience to be clearer, more progressive, and more user-centered.

The redesigned journey better highlights the association’s activities, clarifies the different ways users can get involved, and guides them step by step toward concrete actions. By improving content hierarchy and interaction flow, the website becomes a more effective tool for transmitting Reva Atea’s values and encouraging long-term engagement. This project demonstrates how UX design can help an association better communicate its mission and turn interest into action.
